Manila - Restaurants in Manila, Philippines

Dining and wining in Manila is a gourmand's delight. Manila is a culinary crossroad of the east and west. Just about every type of cuisine can be found in the city.

You can have your fill of authentic Filipino dishes as well as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, French, Swiss, German, Italian and of course American.

The top hotels of Makati and Manila all have fine dining rooms, particularly for continental cuisine. Rows and rows of folksy or ethnic restaurants are concentrated in the old "tourist belt" of Ermita; in Greenbelt Park or on Makati (food) Avenue in Makati; along Roxas Boulevard or on Timog Avenue in Quezon City.

Of course, one can also find on every alternate comer a branch of the ubiquitous MacDonalds or Wendy's or Jollibee. For down-home native fare, look to a branch of Barrio Fiesta, Josephine's or Zamboanga - and check if they offer a folkloric dance show with the meal. For a taste of something different, try eating with your hands in a Kamayan outlet; or pick your own fresh seafood at the popular Seafood Market in Makati or Manila.
